Bet # 28

Final bet for today, and I'm going to take Mr E's favourite foreign team, Lyon, who tonight play Saint Etienne, to have more than 2.5 goals in the match.  Both teams seem free scoring at the moment with 19 goals scored combined in the last 5 games (average 3+ per game)

Let's hope that this isn't the beginning of the drought.

£2.06 @ 23/10

Owen Almst Scuppers...

Last kick of the game and Michael Owen almost put more misery on the Incremental by scoring Uniteds third.  But... he put it wide so I win.

Bet # 27 : +£0.96
Total P&L : +£20.57

Bet # 27

Pompey continued from thrashing Stoke 4-0, to d it again against Wigan.

Stoke didn't bear so well.  2-0 up, and then threw it away to draw 2-2 at the final whistle.

I've put a second bet on tonight - under 2.5 goals in the Manyo game.  That should liven things up a bit @ 1/2

In seperate news, we bid a fond farewell to the Daily 20.  Long may it remain a blog to always prove that sometimes you can beat the bookies!

Bet # 26

So yesterdays bet paid off in the 90th minute, taking my pot to £21.77 - the first time I think i've been over £20!

Todays bet - lets keep the luck flowing...

Stoke take on Wolves at the Britannia Stadium, and i'm hoping that Pompeys 4-0 league cup thrashing of them will give them the mental advantage, wanting to prove themselves in front of their home crowd.

This is at evens so will return £2.18 if it comes off.

Bet # 25

It's not very often that anyone should go against the D20.  But yesterdays bet wasn't very good - the opposition came out of the blocks on fire!  Anyhow, both "dead certs" lost.  Not to worry though, as i'll get back on the winning track today!

I'm hoping for Gillinghams poor away form to continue tonight at Southend @ evens

£1.60 could return £1.60!

*Additional - I've actually whacked my remaining £14.44 on this being either Southend or Draw @ 2/7

Could this be the end to the Incremental???

Celtic.  Pah.  Say no more.

For todays bet, £1.78 on... see the D20.

*and, just for the Daily Tenner... AT LEAST I'LL CREDIT WHERE I'M COPYING FROM!

Bet # 23

Very quick selection today...  It's going to be just initial reaction choices.  3... 2... 1.... go!

Ok.  10 seconds later and it is Chelsea (1/3), Man City (1/5) and Celtic (4/11) all to win tonight.

Combined odds of just over evens.

Potential Profit : £2.34

This little piggie went to market, this little piggie scored 5 past Posh...

Blackburn overcame their swine flu crisis in style, thumping Peterborough 5-2.  It was 2-2 shortly after half time, but then Blackburn showed why they are a Premiership team and took the game by the scruff of the neck.  In other games, Manyoo beat Barnsley and Spurs predictably beat Everton - both ending 2-0.

All-in-all, a good night for the Incremental, bringing the coffers to almost £20 - back to the starting pot.

Win : £4.45

Bet # 22

Tonight sees some Carling Cup action, and in light of this I'm going for a little treble:
Man Utd to win away at Barnsley (4/9), Blackburn to do what the Toon couldn't and beat Peterborough (4/6), and Spurs to beat Everton (8/13).

All this works out at just less than 3/1

Royals Foxed It Up

Despite absolutely battering the opposition, Reading extended their 14 game winless run at the Madejski stadium. The final score of 0-1 in Leicester's favour was a total smash'n'grab effort as the home side wasted countless chances.  This was good news for me :)

Bet # 21

It was an eventful weekend, as I've been away cadetting in the hills, and I'd have updated sooner had I not been bunged up with this stupid one-day cold.

Anyhow, here's the results:
Bet # 18 - Watford thumped Sheff Wed 4-1 on Friday bringing me home profit of £1.80

Bet # 19 - The dull 0-0 draw meant I lost the Hull-Pompey encounter = -£1.31

Bet # 20 - Liverpool beat Manyoo 2-0, one goal less than needed for me to pocket anything = -£1.31

Bet # 21 - Leicester play away at Reading tonight in the Championship.  Mr. C fancies L to win, but has played safe and gone for them not to lose.  I'm going the whole hogg at 17/10 for a L win.  I couldn't remember my balance so just put £1.00 on it (I must be around the £10 mark).

Bets # 18 to 20

I'm away cadetting this weekend so have had to do some creative accounting with my wagers - taking the combined total of what would potentially be 3 losses, and then splitting them equally - averaging £1.31 per game

Bet # 18 : Watford to beat Sheff Wed @ 11/8

Bet # 19 : Pompey to beat Hull @ 9/5

Bet # 20 : Over 2.5 goals in the Liverpool/Man Yoo Game @ 23/10

D20 Rules...

T&T did the D20 and the Incremental proud as they beat Cape Cobras 178/3 v 175/5 in the T20 match this afternoon.  What I failed to mention was that I put the entirety of my balance on T&T to win.

I also whacked a cheeky £1 on when CC were 20/1 in the last few overs, just in case.  Anyway, I'm nw up to a healthy profit, and ready to resume tomorrow on the 10% bets.

Papa's got a brand new toy

As is just my luck, favourite Jenks was beaten 6-5 by Barrie Bates in the darts - yet another loss notched up.

I've also got a new little system, which I'm trying out on Betfair.  Further details to follow once it has been fully tested.

Anyhow, I've gone and matched the D20's prediction of a T&T win in the cricket today.

Bet # 16

More than 50% down from my initial stake just over 2 weeks ago.  Newcastle let me down last night, whereas Lyon were excellent value beating Liverpool at 15/4 - shame I never took them!

Anyhow, today I'm going to go darts and take Terry Jenkins to beat Barrie Bates - £0.99 on at 4/7

Bet # 15

Keeping it simple.

I've looked at a few different selections today, such as Lyon to not lose at Anfield (5/6) or an accumulator on various teams, however I'm going to keep this one very simple.

The toon were unfortunate against Notts Forrest on Saturday, as they had the better play in the second half, and were unlucky to have their equaliser ruled out for offside.  Tonight they are away to Scunthorpe, and this at 11/10 offers good enough odds to bring me further along on the road to recovery.

Bet # 14

After waiting ages to find out that my earlier match was only 1-0 scoreline, I opted to put on Leeds to beat Norwich.  Leeds home form has been good so far this season, so the selection was a doddle.

The game proved less than convincing, as the winner came in the last few minutes.  A win is a win however.

Bet # 13

So i'm up REALLY early this morning, and as such thought about sticking on an early morning wager.

There's pretty much nothing to choose from, so I've put £1.12 on there to be more than 2.5 goals in the reserve match between Slavia Sofia and Liteks Lovetch.

I've no idea how this will go, but feel lucky on the fact it's a. Reserves, and b. Winning my bet yesterday.  At 4/7 this could bring back a whopping... wait for it... 64p!

Goals by the hatful!

Glad to see that going against my gut pays off, with Blackburn and Burnley having an eventful afternoon on the scoresheet.  This bet was wrapped up for me by the 21st minute when Blackburn took the 2-1 lead, eventually winning the game 3-2.

And with this small win I live to fight another day.  Just got to keep on winning now...

Well, I was advised to stay away from those teams, and it was justified - with only Spuds winning, away to Pompey - and even then it was hard work.  Hanging on for 30+ minutes with 10-men, while Pompey threw everything at them.

Bet # 12 is more reserved, Blackburn v Burnley.  Burnley have scored only 1 goal on the road this season (against the Mackems), Blackburn havent done much better, scoring only 5 at home.

My gut instinct is to go for less than 2.5 goals in this derby, however I'm going to go for more than 2.5 goals at 9/10.

Simon Says.... Lose

In a final set where both players were terrible (I've never seen a game with so many breaks of serve), neither player looked like taking the lead.  Then Djokovic maintained his serve to take a 4-2 advantage.  He then again went on and broke Simon taking it to 5-2.

It's not finished yet, but the result is a formality.

Bet # 10 - confirmed!

Well I decided to put my free £5 Skybet on Cheltenham to be winning first half/full time @ 15/8, and as a result of this, have opted to stay away from the match for the days Incremental bet.

In-play, Giles Simon is already 1 set down against Novak Djokovic, but is (touch wood) just about to clinch the second.  At 12/5 this bet offers really good value as Simon did Mr. C pround yesterday seeing off Berdych (who in turn knocked out Cilic in my bet the other day).

Bet # 10, or is it...

Todays selection was made much earlier in the week, and is also one of my choices for the Syndicate Mk II.  Surprisingly the Daily Tenner have also made this their choice, so I'm now in two minds to go for it.

SkyBet have given me a free £5 bet, and at evens, I might use the £5 on this and save my bet # 10 selection for something else... watch this space!

Toulon Rouge!

My first win in a while, and while it's not exactly breaking the bank, the rot has stopped... even if only temporarily.  The final score was 31-23, with Jonny Wilkinson getting more than half of those!

This is coupled with the 27-20 Canterbury win earlier in the day.

Anyhow, a win is a win, so I am more than happy to add this to my victory list.  Long may it continue!

Bet # 9

After last night disappointment, and the 8th losing bet out of 10, I went and did what I do, and put on an even more random bet.

Changing sport completely, I saw that in Rugby Union there were a few games coming up.

I've taken Canterbury to beat Hawkes Bay @ 2/5 (this has already won as I write this up) and Toulon to win at home against Saracens in their Amlin Challenge Cup meeting.  With Geordie Jonny Wilkinson in the team, I'm hoping they can romp home in this difficult encounter.  At 4/9 this brings my odds to just over evens.

A result too far...

I knew it.  I added Denmark last night as a last minute addition to the selection.  Pondering over the choices for ages, picking Denmark over Bulgaria.  Denmark v Hungary 0-1, Bulgaria v Georgia 6-2.

All my other results have come in.  Well, except Brazil who play later.

Pah.  Not impressed.

Bet # 8

All day training again tomorrow means I won't get to make a decent selection for the incremental.  The 7A selection went in favour of the D10, so again I lose - not very good so far, with only 2 wins out of 8!  Probably 2 out of 9 after tomorrows selections...

England should bounce back against Belarus @ 1/7, but have key players out.  Even so, they 'should' win, to get the nation back on a high after Saturdays disappointment.

Sweden need a win against Albania, and Portugal to not win against Malta.  While I can't see Portugal losing this one, Sweden should do the business at 1/5

Croatia have to win against Kazakhstan, and hope the Ukraine slip up away to Andorra.  Croatia to win is 1/3

The Swiss need to not lose against Israel at 1/7 for the win/draw to qualify.

Add in Wales to not get beat away to Lichtenstein @ 1/9, Denmark to beat Hungary @ 8/15, Brazil to bounce back against Venezuala @ 1/5 and Italy to beat Cyprus @ 1/4 and we have odds of 4.34/1

Throwing more money away is what this is called...  Fook it!

Bet # 7 & Bet # 7A

Okay, things aren't going too well at present.  Tranmere were unlucky to get beaten, having their keeper sent off and the subsequent penalty being the difference between the two sides.

Loss from Bet # 6 : -£1.76

On to today, and things weren't much better - my initial decision was to take Berdych to beat Cilic in the Shaghai Tennis, but then I got swayed by the 4/9 for Cilic so opted for him instead, adding Troicki to beat Monaco for added value at 1/2.

Cilic was 4-2 ahead in the final set when he then proceeded to throw it away - odds in play were 1/50 for him to win!  Troicki, as expected, went on and won.

Loss from Bet # 7 : -£1.58

Now on to the bet 7A - our friendly rivals over at the Daily Tenner and Daily £20 have gone for opposites in tonights Coca Cola League One - D10 going Brighton at 5/4, and D20 going for Gillingham at 11/5

I'm hoping neither come out on top as I've joined the banter debate by going for the draw at 23/10.

Brazil got beat 2-1 last night.  The curse of the qualified if you ask me.

Anyhow, todays selection is more than likely going to be a draw, but I'm taking Tranmere to get their second home win of the season against Stockport.  Both teams are hovering around the relegation zone in the Coca Cola League One.  At 13/10 this 'could' take me back to almost £20.00...

Well that's 2 losses, and 2 wins in 4 days, and I'm just short of my initial starting pot, so today's will hopefully take me into overall profit.  This is partially due to following (in a round-about way) Mr. C's tips at the D20.

Confession Time

Ok, time has come to come clean about the last two weeks of The Incremental.  After having a mare of a time I needed to prove to myself I could stick to 10% bets, and not go stupid.  Thus I put a "free" pot of £100 of fake money, and started 'betting'.

I've managed to do what I set out to do, so am officially starting again.  With a starting pot of £20.00

The 10% bets will still happen, but I feel much better, and less inclined to go for broke.

Insurance Taken

I'm worried about this bet so am taking out insurance.

As Jamie Cope is winning 3-2 Mark Allan is at odds of 5/4 so i'm going to whack the same stake on him...

Further info to follow...

Bet # 15

Unfortunately James Wade (world #2) let me down yesterday as he lost to Dennis Priestley.  I only added him for value to boost the pot, but none-the-less the accumulator fails.

I think I'm going to try and stay away from accumulators...

Todays selection is going against the grain, where I'm going to take Jamie Cope to beat Mark Allan in the snooker grand prix - always a mistake to go against Mr. C... :(
