Incremental takes a break

Regardless of the outcome of tomorrows matches, I've decided that I'm closing the incremental down for a while.

This has nowt to do with recent losses, but is more I'm finding it difficult to juggle the funds between 3 different systems, and something has to give.

I'll be back in the new year.

Thanks for reading!

Swineflu around the Hudders?

Bet # 65 : -£2.36
Total P&L : +£21.23

On a positive note, both other bets I put on tonight won!  Not part of the incremental though :(

Bet # 66 is where I will most likely be falling under the £20 mark, as I'm putting on both English teams to succeed in Europe tomorrow.

Odds of 2.5 for that is where my £2.12 goes...

Pompey Blew It

This match would have been so different, had Pompey scored their first half penalty.  But they didn't, and despite being the better team, were beat by a 74th minute goal.

Bet # 63 : -£2.91
Total P&L : +£26.21

Bet # 64 goes on Nadael (8/13) and Djokovic (2/5) to win their respective matches today.

Bet # 63

Stoke play at home today v Pompey.  Pompey beat Stoke 4-0 in the league cup, and will be looking for a repeat performance as they attempt to get off the foot of the table.

£2.91 @ 12/5 on a Pompey win.

Bordeaux got beat! and Lyon drew against bottom of league Grenoble.

Bet # 61 : -£3.24
Total P&L : +£29.12

Bet # 62

Top of the league Bordeaux take on eighth placed Valenciennes tonight @ 4/9, while second placed Lyon take on bottom side Grenoble away @ 1/2

Both matches kick off at 18:00

£3.24 @ 1.16/1

What a good day!

Lee Bowyer scored the only goal of the game to make Bet # 61 a winner.  Scoring on 16 minutes, Fulham just couldn't reply.

In separate betting, our little syndicate of Me, Mr H, and Mr P came good in the 90+4 minute as our £3 on an accumulator of Chelski (4-0), Leeds (3-0) and Leicester (1-0) came off at just under respectable 3/1

And final, win of the day has to go for a honorable mention to my old man - he was mocked in the club last night, but went and did it anyway, getting odds from the bookies of 60/1...

£5 on Darren Bent to score and Sunderland to win 1-0!

Well done Dad!  I'll be coming to the club tonight for a few pints on you!

Bet # 61 : +£4.22
Total P&L : +£32.36

Bet # 61

Scott Waites threw the best 3 games of his life to come from 9-7 down, to beat Gary Anderson 10-9 in the final second round match of the night.  Earlier, Simon Whitlock won 10-1 to make this bet 50% of the way there.

I also stuck a cheeky 41p (don't ask why) on Darin Young at 16/1 on who very nearly pulled it back to win against Robert Thornton, but alas didn't.

Bet # 60 : -£3.17
Bet # 60b : -£0.41
Total P&L : +£28.14

Bet # 61 will be on the footy tomorrow.  Birmingham to beat Fulham = £2.81 @ 6/4

Harrington Makes Headway!

Paddy wonderful, as Mr. C's second waxer tip comes off in style.  This brings me well above £30 now, and it's back to 10% bets.

Bet # 60 : +£5.21
Total P&L : +£31.72

Bet # 61 is on the darts.  Whitlock (1/2) and Anderson (1/4) to win their matches.  Hats off to Mr. C who should really get back into the betting game...

£3.17 @ 0.87/1

Mr. C = Legend!

Good tip from Mr. C today meant I returned a £6.41 profit.  O'Shea beating Mark Webster 10-9, before Taylor hammered Lloyd 10-4.

Bet # 59 : +£6.41
Total P&L : +£26.51

Bet 60 is another Mr. C waxer... £6.51 @ 4/5 on Paddy Harrington to beat Martin Kaymer in the second round of the Dubai World Championship in an 18-hole match up.  This action tees off at 5:55 GMT so with any luck I'll be quids in by breakfast time ;)

Bet # 59

Portugal came up trumps last night (7/5), however I also needed Uruguay to beat Costa Rica (4/9) - they didn't :(

Bet # 59 is on the darts - O'Shea to beat Webster @ 4/7, with a bit of Phil Taylor added in for 'value'.  I've also put 50% of my pot on this!

Bet # 58 goes on Portugal and Uruguay (both 1-0 up from the first legs) to win the second legs of their world cup qualifying matches.

Bet # 55

San Lorenzo had a torrid night, getting hammered 3-0 at home to Indepentiente.

Bet # 53 : -£2.63
Total P&L : +£23.71

I then thought I'd give the Argentinian league another shot, taking River Plate to beat Atletico Tucuman @ 8/11.  When they went 1-0 down, I thought my luck was right out, however River Plate came back to win 3-1.

Bet # 54 : +£1.73
Total P&L : +£25.44

So now on to today's bet... There's pretty much nothing on today, so it's back to the Argentinian Primera Division, where Racing Club take on Estudiantes.  Now I initially fancied Racing, who are 2nd bottom in the table, to beat Estudiantes (currently 4th), but at 14/5 thought this was way too favourable for the bookies to take my dosh.  Studying the recent form guide, both teams don't seem to be doing too well keeping clean sheets, so I've taken this for more than 2.5 goals.

£2.54 @ 23/20

Todays flutter is going to be on San Lorenzo to beat Independiente in the Argentinian Primera Division.

McQuade Saves The Day

Six minutes in and Dumbarton were 1-0 up.  This was the last opportunity for me to check the scores, as I was just heading into the cinema to watch 2012, and then when I came out my phone battery was dead.

Anyway, as the headline suggests, the bet came off, as Paul McQuade scored a penalty on 18 mins, and struck the winner in the 82nd.

Bet # 52 : +£2.61
Total P&L : +£26.34

Bet # 52

Todays dosh is on Cowdenbeath to beat Dumbarton in the Scottish League Two.

£2.37 @ 11/10

P.s.  or those wondering about the super Mr. C tip, it was for the Nadal v Tsonga tennis match.  Nadal was 6/5 (and won) but Mr. C recommended over 22.5 games - it was 24.  Never put it on though.

Rainy Days equals Happy Days!

Happy days indeed, as the first Twenty20 match was a corker!

England came out 202-6, and the bookies swung favour towards them, to the point I almost backed SA to get a win-win scenario.  If anything I was too late, as the odds fell, due to SA pulling back well.

At 127-3, rain stopped play, and I thought this bet would be voided.  Not to be!  England had 128 at the same point (after 13 overs) and apparently that did it!

Happy Days!

Bet # 51 : +£3.54
Total P&L : +£23.73

Bet # 51

Yesterday was disappointing as NZ were crushed by Pakistan.  And it looked so positive 17-0 up after the first over.

Bet # 50 : -£2.43
Total P&L : +£20.19

At risk of breaking back into the 'less than £20.00' bracket, I've taken England to beat SA in the International Twenty20 today.

If this comes off, Mr. C has picked a tremendous second bet...  Watch this space.

Anyhow, £2.02 goes on England @ 7/4

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Bet # 50

I never had any time to get a bet on yesterday, and when I eventually did get some time, there was nothing I fancied - so I saved my dosh for today.

The Twenty20 cricket between Pakistan & New Zealand is well underway, and with Pakistan 161-8, NZ are chasing the match.  I've taken them to win this.

£2.24 @ 6/5

Three One..... Threeeeeeee Onnnnnnnneee!

Yes, as you'll have guessed, both my selections for tonight came in 3-1 winners.  It would have been almost 3 times as much won had I went for the 'more than 2.5 goals' but I'm a happy chappy none the less.

Bet # 48 : +£1.44
Total P&L : +£22.43

Bet # 48 & # 49

Liverpool Brum ended 2-2.

Bet # 47 : -£2.08
Total P&L : +£18.75

Tonight sees me putting on a League 1 v League 2 double in the League Cup - Leeds and MK dons to beat Grimsby and Northampton respectively.  These come at odds of 2/9 and 4/9 which combined is slightly less than evens - and it's £1.88 on this.

I've also had a few randoms on throughout the day.  Bottom line of this is that I've come out up.  I'll not bore with the details...

Bet # 47

Tonights bet is on either team in the Liverpool/Brum clash not to score.  I was tempted by the Torres to score 2 or more at 11/4 but have settled on the above.  Hopefully Brum will draw a blank...

£2.08 @ 5/6

Bet # 46

I should have checked the full form history to know that this wouldn't have been the high scoring encounter I expected.  Chelsea won 1-0, and Ralph lost.

Bet # 45 : -£2.32
Total P&L : +£20.83

Think I'll get some on the cricket later on...

Sunday, November 8, 2009

Bet # 45

Well the biggest game tomorrow has to be the Chelsea/ManYoo encounter at Stamford Bridge.

I think this will be too close to call, as both teams seem to be firing on all cylinders, but while both seem to be doing ok on the scoring front, they are both letting in goals at the back (conceding 5 between them in Champs League).

On this basis, I'm going for more than 2.5 goals, staking £2.32 @ 21/20

Valuev for Money

How he did it?  I don't know!  But David Hayes managed to beat Goliath Nicolay Valuev via decision 114-114, 116-112, 116-12.  It means that Mr. C was bob on, and as such, brings the Incremental back above the initial stake for only the third time since the beginning of October.

In other news, there were two more goals in the second half at Molineux, however only one of them went to Arsenal, so my 91p profit from bet 43 went back into the bookies pocket.

Bet # 44

Arsenal are already 3-0 up at half time against Wolves, successfully winning me 91p from bet # 43.

As a result, I'm taking them to score at least two more goals in the second half.  My 91p goes on this at odds of 13/8

Bet # 42 & # 43

Tonight sees David Haye take on a giant in the boxing.  My money, after a Mr. C tip, is for Haye to win by Decision/Technical Decision.  £1.84 @ 13/5

Also, in the football, I've taken Arsenal/Wolves to be more than 2.5 goals.  £1.65 @ 11/20.  I might increase this as the goals go in...

Loads of bets...

The arsenal game was goals galore...  The barca game... wasn't :(

Bet # 36 : -£1.92

Total P&L : +£17.31

I then went for a treble in the Europa League.  This didn't come off either.

Bet # 37 : -£1.73

Total P&L : +£15.58

Giles Simon playing in the Tennis on Friday.  Surely he'll win...  Nope.

Bet # 38 : -£1.56

Damn Minibus!

Chelsea eventually took the lead in the game in the 88th minute, only to concede an equaliser 3 minutes later.  The game ended a draw, so I lose.

The minibus reference is due to my other scheme of which I couldn't back the draw, due to shipping cadets back from Alnwick when Atletico took the lead.  That one cost me £53 into the other profit.  Never mind... at least the Daily Tenner lost too...

Bet # 35 : -£2.14
Total P&L : +£19.23

Bet # 35

After a busy day yesterday I've decided to calm it down a bit today.  Tempting as it was to whack a wodge on Pakistan to beat New Zealand today, work kept me busy enough that I didn't find myself needing to.

Anyhow, ample selections to go for tonight, including QPR at home to Crystal Palace, Man Utd v Moskow, etc... but I'm going to play it safe and take 17 goals in 4 games Chelski to see off Atletico Madrid again tonight.  With Drogba back, is this going to be another high scoring game?  Who cares?  I don't, as long as Chelski win.

£2.14 goes on this at 10/11

Monday, November 2, 2009

Bet # 32, 33 & 34

Blame Mr C and his cricket malarky...  Tip of the day again came from him, for Dhoni to score more than 50 runs... I went against this and took less than 41.5 @ 5/6 with a stake of £1.35 Mr B came out on top for a change!

Bet # 32 : +£1.13
Total P&L : +£16.12
In-Play : -£1.50 (Toon match)

Bet 33 was when Dhoni was still in play and would be "hitting it big".  I took the 31st over (i think) to be more than 4.5 runs.  It wasn't.

Bet # 33 : -£2.00
Total P&L : £14.12
In-Play : -£1.50 (Toon match)

Finally, once Dhoni went out, the Aussies came big favourites again.  I was unlucky not to get them at 11/4, but stuck a quick £5er on them at evens.  They went on to win 250 v 226 all out.

P.s. As I write this up, the Toon narrowly beat Sheff Utd 1-0 thanks to an own goal.  Mr. C was very right when he said less than 2.5 goals...

Bet # 34 : +£5.00
Bet # 31 : +£2.25
Total P&L : +£21.37

Bet # 30 & # 31

Man City, Kings of the Draws couldn't score against Birmingham, and in the end were lucky as ex-toon stopper, Super Shay Given saved them from embarrassment by saving from the spot early in the second half.

Bet # 29 : -£1.85
Total P&L : +£16.66

Bet # 30 was also short lived.  Mr. C's tip of the day was for Ricky Ponting to get more than 69.5 runs against India.  This was in-play and he had 30 already, and was up to 52 before being run out - we think more his partners fault than his...

Bet # 30 : -£1.67
Total P&L : +£14.99

And finally, the Toon play tonight, away to an injury ravaged Sheffield United.  The Toon were knocked from top spot over the weekend as a win for West Brom, and a draw for Cardiff took them higher.  At 6/4 this is pretty decent value.

Sunday, November 1, 2009

Bet # 29

I knew I should have just went for the Lyon win @ 11/10.  It wasn't the goal-fest I was counting on, as Lyon won 1-0

Bet # 28 : -£2.06

Total P&L : +£18.51

Today's bet is on Rangers to beat Dundee @ 10/11 (kicks off in 13 mins), coupled with Man City to beat Birmingham @ 5/6 (KO 16:00).  Combined odds of 5/2 as I stake £1.85.

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Bet # 28

Final bet for today, and I'm going to take Mr E's favourite foreign team, Lyon, who tonight play Saint Etienne, to have more than 2.5 goals in the match.  Both teams seem free scoring at the moment with 19 goals scored combined in the last 5 games (average 3+ per game)

Let's hope that this isn't the beginning of the drought.

£2.06 @ 23/10

Owen Almst Scuppers...

Last kick of the game and Michael Owen almost put more misery on the Incremental by scoring Uniteds third.  But... he put it wide so I win.

Bet # 27 : +£0.96
Total P&L : +£20.57

Bet # 27

Pompey continued from thrashing Stoke 4-0, to d it again against Wigan.

Stoke didn't bear so well.  2-0 up, and then threw it away to draw 2-2 at the final whistle.

I've put a second bet on tonight - under 2.5 goals in the Manyo game.  That should liven things up a bit @ 1/2

In seperate news, we bid a fond farewell to the Daily 20.  Long may it remain a blog to always prove that sometimes you can beat the bookies!

Bet # 26

So yesterdays bet paid off in the 90th minute, taking my pot to £21.77 - the first time I think i've been over £20!

Todays bet - lets keep the luck flowing...

Stoke take on Wolves at the Britannia Stadium, and i'm hoping that Pompeys 4-0 league cup thrashing of them will give them the mental advantage, wanting to prove themselves in front of their home crowd.

This is at evens so will return £2.18 if it comes off.

Friday, October 30, 2009

Bet # 25

It's not very often that anyone should go against the D20.  But yesterdays bet wasn't very good - the opposition came out of the blocks on fire!  Anyhow, both "dead certs" lost.  Not to worry though, as i'll get back on the winning track today!

I'm hoping for Gillinghams poor away form to continue tonight at Southend @ evens

£1.60 could return £1.60!

*Additional - I've actually whacked my remaining £14.44 on this being either Southend or Draw @ 2/7

Could this be the end to the Incremental???

Thursday, October 29, 2009

Bet # 24

Celtic.  Pah.  Say no more.

For todays bet, £1.78 on... see the D20.

*and, just for the Daily Tenner... AT LEAST I'LL CREDIT WHERE I'M COPYING FROM!

Bet # 23

Very quick selection today...  It's going to be just initial reaction choices.  3... 2... 1.... go!

Ok.  10 seconds later and it is Chelsea (1/3), Man City (1/5) and Celtic (4/11) all to win tonight.

Combined odds of just over evens.

Potential Profit : £2.34

Blackburn overcame their swine flu crisis in style, thumping Peterborough 5-2.  It was 2-2 shortly after half time, but then Blackburn showed why they are a Premiership team and took the game by the scruff of the neck.  In other games, Manyoo beat Barnsley and Spurs predictably beat Everton - both ending 2-0.

All-in-all, a good night for the Incremental, bringing the coffers to almost £20 - back to the starting pot.

Bet # 22

Tonight sees some Carling Cup action, and in light of this I'm going for a little treble:

All this works out at just less than 3/1

Bet # 21

It was an eventful weekend, as I've been away cadetting in the hills, and I'd have updated sooner had I not been bunged up with this stupid one-day cold.

Anyhow, here's the results:
Bet # 18 - Watford thumped Sheff Wed 4-1 on Friday bringing me home profit of £1.80

Bet # 19 - The dull 0-0 draw meant I lost the Hull-Pompey encounter = -£1.31

Bet # 20 - Liverpool beat Manyoo 2-0, one goal less than needed for me to pocket anything = -£1.31

Bet # 21 - Leicester play away at Reading tonight in the Championship.  Mr. C fancies L to win, but has played safe and gone for them not to lose.  I'm going the whole hogg at 17/10 for a L win.  I couldn't remember my balance so just put £1.00 on it (I must be around the £10 mark).

Bets # 18 to 20

I'm away cadetting this weekend so have had to do some creative accounting with my wagers - taking the combined total of what would potentially be 3 losses, and then splitting them equally - averaging £1.31 per game

D20 Rules...

T&T did the D20 and the Incremental proud as they beat Cape Cobras 178/3 v 175/5 in the T20 match this afternoon.  What I failed to mention was that I put the entirety of my balance on T&T to win.

I also whacked a cheeky £1 on when CC were 20/1 in the last few overs, just in case.  Anyway, I'm nw up to a healthy profit, and ready to resume tomorrow on the 10% bets.

As is just my luck, favourite Jenks was beaten 6-5 by Barrie Bates in the darts - yet another loss notched up.

I've also got a new little system, which I'm trying out on Betfair.  Further details to follow once it has been fully tested.

Anyhow, I've gone and matched the D20's prediction of a T&T win in the cricket today.

Bet # 16

More than 50% down from my initial stake just over 2 weeks ago.  Newcastle let me down last night, whereas Lyon were excellent value beating Liverpool at 15/4 - shame I never took them!

Anyhow, today I'm going to go darts and take Terry Jenkins to beat Barrie Bates - £0.99 on at 4/7

Bet # 15

Keeping it simple.

I've looked at a few different selections today, such as Lyon to not lose at Anfield (5/6) or an accumulator on various teams, however I'm going to keep this one very simple.

The toon were unfortunate against Notts Forrest on Saturday, as they had the better play in the second half, and were unlucky to have their equaliser ruled out for offside.  Tonight they are away to Scunthorpe, and this at 11/10 offers good enough odds to bring me further along on the road to recovery.

Bet # 14

After waiting ages to find out that my earlier match was only 1-0 scoreline, I opted to put on Leeds to beat Norwich.  Leeds home form has been good so far this season, so the selection was a doddle.

The game proved less than convincing, as the winner came in the last few minutes.  A win is a win however.

So i'm up REALLY early this morning, and as such thought about sticking on an early morning wager.

There's pretty much nothing to choose from, so I've put £1.12 on there to be more than 2.5 goals in the reserve match between Slavia Sofia and Liteks Lovetch.

I've no idea how this will go, but feel lucky on the fact it's a. Reserves, and b. Winning my bet yesterday.  At 4/7 this could bring back a whopping... wait for it... 64p!

Goals by the hatful!

Glad to see that going against my gut pays off, with Blackburn and Burnley having an eventful afternoon on the scoresheet.  This bet was wrapped up for me by the 21st minute when Blackburn took the 2-1 lead, eventually winning the game 3-2.

And with this small win I live to fight another day.  Just got to keep on winning now...

Bet # 12

Well, I was advised to stay away from those teams, and it was justified - with only Spuds winning, away to Pompey - and even then it was hard work.  Hanging on for 30+ minutes with 10-men, while Pompey threw everything at them.

Bet # 12 is more reserved, Blackburn v Burnley.  Burnley have scored only 1 goal on the road this season (against the Mackems), Blackburn havent done much better, scoring only 5 at home.

My gut instinct is to go for less than 2.5 goals in this derby, however I'm going to go for more than 2.5 goals at 9/10.

Simon Says.... Lose

In a final set where both players were terrible (I've never seen a game with so many breaks of serve), neither player looked like taking the lead.  Then Djokovic maintained his serve to take a 4-2 advantage.  He then again went on and broke Simon taking it to 5-2.

It's not finished yet, but the result is a formality.

Bet # 10 - confirmed!

Well I decided to put my free £5 Skybet on Cheltenham to be winning first half/full time @ 15/8, and as a result of this, have opted to stay away from the match for the days Incremental bet.

In-play, Giles Simon is already 1 set down against Novak Djokovic, but is (touch wood) just about to clinch the second.  At 12/5 this bet offers really good value as Simon did Mr. C pround yesterday seeing off Berdych (who in turn knocked out Cilic in my bet the other day).

Bet # 10, or is it...

Todays selection was made much earlier in the week, and is also one of my choices for the Syndicate Mk II.  Surprisingly the Daily Tenner have also made this their choice, so I'm now in two minds to go for it.

SkyBet have given me a free £5 bet, and at evens, I might use the £5 on this and save my bet # 10 selection for something else... watch this space!

Toulon Rouge!

My first win in a while, and while it's not exactly breaking the bank, the rot has stopped... even if only temporarily.  The final score was 31-23, with Jonny Wilkinson getting more than half of those!

This is coupled with the 27-20 Canterbury win earlier in the day.

Anyhow, a win is a win, so I am more than happy to add this to my victory list.  Long may it continue!

Bet # 9

After last night disappointment, and the 8th losing bet out of 10, I went and did what I do, and put on an even more random bet.

Changing sport completely, I saw that in Rugby Union there were a few games coming up.

I've taken Canterbury to beat Hawkes Bay @ 2/5 (this has already won as I write this up) and Toulon to win at home against Saracens in their Amlin Challenge Cup meeting.  With Geordie Jonny Wilkinson in the team, I'm hoping they can romp home in this difficult encounter.  At 4/9 this brings my odds to just over evens.

A result too far...

I knew it.  I added Denmark last night as a last minute addition to the selection.  Pondering over the choices for ages, picking Denmark over Bulgaria.  Denmark v Hungary 0-1, Bulgaria v Georgia 6-2.

All my other results have come in.  Well, except Brazil who play later.

Pah.  Not impressed.

Bet # 8

All day training again tomorrow means I won't get to make a decent selection for the incremental.  The 7A selection went in favour of the D10, so again I lose - not very good so far, with only 2 wins out of 8!  Probably 2 out of 9 after tomorrows selections...

England should bounce back against Belarus @ 1/7, but have key players out.  Even so, they 'should' win, to get the nation back on a high after Saturdays disappointment.

Sweden need a win against Albania, and Portugal to not win against Malta.  While I can't see Portugal losing this one, Sweden should do the business at 1/5

Croatia have to win against Kazakhstan, and hope the Ukraine slip up away to Andorra.  Croatia to win is 1/3

The Swiss need to not lose against Israel at 1/7 for the win/draw to qualify.

Add in Wales to not get beat away to Lichtenstein @ 1/9, Denmark to beat Hungary @ 8/15, Brazil to bounce back against Venezuala @ 1/5 and Italy to beat Cyprus @ 1/4 and we have odds of 4.34/1

Throwing more money away is what this is called...  Fook it!

Bet # 7 & Bet # 7A

Okay, things aren't going too well at present.  Tranmere were unlucky to get beaten, having their keeper sent off and the subsequent penalty being the difference between the two sides.

Loss from Bet # 6 : -£1.76

On to today, and things weren't much better - my initial decision was to take Berdych to beat Cilic in the Shaghai Tennis, but then I got swayed by the 4/9 for Cilic so opted for him instead, adding Troicki to beat Monaco for added value at 1/2.

Cilic was 4-2 ahead in the final set when he then proceeded to throw it away - odds in play were 1/50 for him to win!  Troicki, as expected, went on and won.

Loss from Bet # 7 : -£1.58

Now on to the bet 7A - our friendly rivals over at the Daily Tenner and Daily £20 have gone for opposites in tonights Coca Cola League One - D10 going Brighton at 5/4, and D20 going for Gillingham at 11/5

I'm hoping neither come out on top as I've joined the banter debate by going for the draw at 23/10.

Bring on a boring 0-0 draw!!!

Bet # 6

Brazil got beat 2-1 last night.  The curse of the qualified if you ask me.

Anyhow, todays selection is more than likely going to be a draw, but I'm taking Tranmere to get their second home win of the season against Stockport.  Both teams are hovering around the relegation zone in the Coca Cola League One.  At 13/10 this 'could' take me back to almost £20.00...

Bet # 5

Well that's 2 losses, and 2 wins in 4 days, and I'm just short of my initial starting pot, so today's will hopefully take me into overall profit.  This is partially due to following (in a round-about way) Mr. C's tips at the D20.

Today, however, I'm going it alone.

Brazil take on Bolivia in their penultimate World Cup Qualifier - and haven't lost a game yet.  I'm hoping they can add another notch tonight.

Confession Time

Ok, time has come to come clean about the last two weeks of The Incremental.  After having a mare of a time I needed to prove to myself I could stick to 10% bets, and not go stupid.  Thus I put a "free" pot of £100 of fake money, and started 'betting'.

I've managed to do what I set out to do, so am officially starting again.  With a starting pot of £20.00

The 10% bets will still happen, but I feel much better, and less inclined to go for broke.

Insurance Taken

I'm worried about this bet so am taking out insurance.

As Jamie Cope is winning 3-2 Mark Allan is at odds of 5/4 so i'm going to whack the same stake on him...

Further info to follow...

Bet # 15

Unfortunately James Wade (world #2) let me down yesterday as he lost to Dennis Priestley.  I only added him for value to boost the pot, but none-the-less the accumulator fails.

I think I'm going to try and stay away from accumulators...

Todays selection is going against the grain, where I'm going to take Jamie Cope to beat Mark Allan in the snooker grand prix - always a mistake to go against Mr. C... :(

James Wade to beat Denis Priestley @ 1/4

Win

Whilst here at the Incremental, I've stayed clear of the Everton/Stoke encounter, I'm still a bit gutted it's gone wrong for the other groups.  However, on a positive front, Inverness CT did the business and beat Ross County at home.

Bet # 13

I want to take one of the big games today, however can't honestly pick on either the Chelski/Pool match or the Rangers/Celtic clash.

Well What Do You Know???

Firstly, Pompey did as I expected and beat Wolves 1-0.  This is a cracking result.

Days # 11 & 12

Busy day at work, and sorting out the other syndicates (Mk I and Mk II), meant I didn't have time to update the blog with yesterdays wager.

Day # 11 - After chats with Mr C over at the D20, I decided to opt for the Aussies to beat England in the ICC Semi Final @ 4/7.  It was a good call, as they romped home - annihilating Englands 257 all out, with 258-1.

Day # 12 - I'm going for probably the riskiest bet of the Incremental, but Pompey have been so unlucky not to get a win so far this season.  Will it come today away at Wolves?  Here's hoping!  At 5/2 this could be a profitable afternoon.

Bet # 10

System issues at work today, means I've got time to ponder today's selection.  Europa League action tonight is always a bit of a dodgy affair, as Europes 'second to sixth' domestic league teams do battle.

I'm only going to pull a treble out of this lot, as I can't really see where to pick so here goes...

Celtic to beat Rapid Vienna @ 4/7
PSV to beat CFR Cluj @ 4/7
Galatasaray to beat Sturm Graz @ 1/4

All works out at just over 2/1

Bet # 9

Tonight, I'm going to put my faith in the Toon again.  They are at home versus QPR in the championship.  After Saturdays 4-0 thrashing of Roy Keanes lot, and with West Brom and Boro losing last night, a win will see us go 5 points clear at the top of league.

At odds of 4/6 this is ok, but to top it up, I'm going to add Chelski into the mix - away at Apoel Nicosia.  At odds of 3/10, this will bring the total odds to 1.16, returning £23.84 if successful.

A cracking night in Europe for the Syndicate... oh wait, we never put it on!  Ah well, never mind.  Just a cracking night for me instead.

All four chosen teams won, bringing home £58.29 (profit of £42.07).  This helps me cross the £200 marker!

The Syndicate Bottle Bet

We have had a big discussion today for The Syndicate, as we are slightly behind target on our 1/3 per bet.  Anyhow, to cut a long story short, we couldn't agree on a bet to put on, so we ain't bothering.

I however will go for it here, and stick on my 10% on the four we decided not to go for.

Arsenal at home to Olympiakos @ 2/9

The only goal of the game came within the first ten minutes, and the bet was won.  I'm not going to try and make up more stats, cos to be honest I never watched the game.  Brazilian Juca was the scorer - Mr. C might be impressed with my headline... or maybe not!

Well I was going to stay away from this one, but after seeing Inverness come from 3-0 down, to pull back 2 and still lose 3-2, I feel like it's going to be a good one for the Toon tonight against Ipswich.

With Boro drawing and West Brom getting beat at home, the Geordies can go back to the top with a win at Ipswich today.  As I'll be watching with a few bottles of jacques, I might as well make it interesting.

I'm out all day tomorrow so have had to look at the fixtures tonight instead.  I fancy a few teams who I wouldn't normally touch with a barge pole...  Brum to beat Bolton, a sneaky feeling that MK Dons will pip Leeds, Hartlepool to beat Walsall, and Yeovil to do one over Brentford.  But, I'm going to go for my birth town team, Inverness CT to beat Partick Thistle at home.  At 11/10 this is slightly better than evens, but more importantly, it could potentially put Inverness up to third in the table.

Crewe Alexandra, Who Are They?

A fantastic start to the match meant that Crewe were never really in this game, Accrington scoring two goals within the first 6 minutes.  Crewe pulled one back just before half time, but a second early goal in the second half for Grant put the game beyond the visitors, with Procter adding a fourth and Symes a fifth. Crewe then pulled another two back before the final whistle.  5-3 the final score.

Starting Again

Well I'm starting it all again.  This time I mean business - no silly bets, no "on the spot" in-play bets.

Only calculated ones.  The wager will be 10% of the current pot total, so the more I win, the more I bet.  And also the more I lose, the less I bet.  Let's hope this time I can get some kind of system going...
